About Glasgow Architectural Salvage

It was back in 1991 that I sold my first door, at the time working for Edinburgh Architectural Salvage yard (now retired) and 30 years on I suspect enough doors have passed through our hands to kit out a small town.

In that 30 years we have gained a wealth of knowledge, which can only be achieved through years of experience and our constantly changing stock reflects this. With over 80 different styles of church pew waiting to be made up and the contents of (over the years) over 20 hospitals, 50 schools and hundreds of houses in our yard either for sale or awaiting restoration.

We carry out many of the renovations ourselves, but also work closely with third parties who can organise painting and testing of radiators, stripping of paint from doors and installing fireplaces.

We try to operate as a small closely knit company of equals, with everyone having a certain degree of autonomy. Hopefully this provides a friendlier and more open experience, whether you want to restore a townhouse or just come for a browse.

Over the years we have saved a lot of Scotland's heritage which would otherwise have been lost forever. Re-using items as opposed to recycling has been a keen ethos of ours from the very beginning, with goods now exported to all four corners of the world, on various film and TV shows and also in many humble crofts closer to home.

Long may the salvage continue.
